Getting close to R1.0!
Published on June 10, 2005 By FutureMillennium In Customization Software

dotWidget is an open-source application for having 'widgets' on your desktop. Widgets are small applications that add some kind of a 'feature' to your desktop. A whole new version after R0.6 is coming!
The current version is Alpha 4a and it's being tested hard so the full release won't have any bugs.
New cool features are being added, like:

  • New gripper behaviour - it only shows when Ctrl+F9 is pressed
  • New widget behaviours - Always on top, Hot Focus and Pin to Desktop
  • Loads of new Widget object properties and methods
  • Got rid of the panel
  • and lots of other smaller or bigger changes

Stay tuned for more info

i dont like the new gripper beheaviour, was easier before (even tried ctrl/alt/shift+left/right/middleclicking, would never have thought of ctrl+f9, as you have to leave the mouse to press it, it's quite an unconfortable election for a key combination, and i dont have an f9 key, had to remove it together with f8 and f12 because they didnt work ).
